Meet Dr. Kratz
From writing a story in 2nd grade entitled "I Want to be a Dentist" to serving patients at Edina Dental Care, Dr. Michael T. Kratz has always had a passion for helping people feel good about their smile. He graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1995, and then completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis. He has practiced dentistry in Edina, MN since 1997.
Dr. Kratz takes the time to get to know each patient and the nuances that make up their unique oral health situation. His comprehensive and conservative approach includes careful treatment planning and recommending trusted specialists as needed. Dr. Kratz and his team take measures to ensure patients are fully informed and comfortable in making decisions about their care.
“We want to make sure each of our patients knows our goal is to help them achieve their oral health objectives with the least possible treatment necessary,” says Dr. Kratz. “Although I advocate for optimal oral health, we work in close partnership with our patients to understand their individual priorities, concerns, and preferences before recommending plans of treatment. Health, comfort, beauty, and long-lasting function are results we strive to achieve, but there is one more result, and that is trust. Your trust means the world to us.”
In order to continually enhance his knowledge, skills, and treatment techniques, Dr. Kratz has completed hundreds of credit hours of postgraduate training at The Pankey Institute and Spear Education, two of the world's premier continuing dental education institutes. As a Pankey-trained dentist, Dr. Kratz subscribes to the principles and practices of optimal care. At both the Pankey Institute and Spear Education, he has pursued advanced study in the treatment of occlusal (bite) problems and TMD, restoration of worn teeth, comprehensive whole-mouth restoration, and esthetic dentistry that is designed to predictably last.

A native Minnesotan and Edina resident, Dr. Kratz enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two daughters. When he's not at the office you can usually find him spending time with family, at one of his daughter's sporting events, golfing, or spending time up north.
